Hovaria® 'Hopaline'
This Hovaria will produce an abundance of flowers, suitable for bouquets and for dried flowers (in flowering phase 3).

Hovaria 'Hopaline'

The Hovaria® 'Hopaline' is the third variety in the series of colour changing Hydrangeas. It is a highly recommended one with special characteristics and qualities. In the beginning the flat florescences noticeably have many little flowers (multiflorous). The colour in phase 1 starts cream white/opal. Ultimately the flowerheads can take on very nice green-red colours in the fall (phase 2 and 3).

phase 1 phase 2 phase 3

In following years, if planted outside, the Hopaline will have an initial soft pink colour in limy soil and an opal blue colour in acid soil. If you like, you can change this initial colour. Please read "colouring blue" and "keeping pink colour".

Just like the Hovaria® 'Homigo', the Hovaria® 'Hopaline' has superior bud development which, if well cared for, will assure there will be almost no year without flowers.

The Hovaria® 'Hopaline' is suited for:

Indoor plant, preferably phase 1 and 2
Garden plant, in all phases
Container plant, in pot or tub, in all phases

The florescences with their many florets are excellently suited for use as dried flowers. Click for more extensive information about "Drying flowers".

The Hovaria® 'Hopaline' needs a lot of light, especially as a indoor plant. For the flower colour to change the plant needs much energy and therefore much light. Direct, full sun can make the flowers wilt or even burn!

Most suitable position,
Indoors:

Set in a bright window, but not in direct sun. Ideal temperature 15-20° C, away from draughts.
Outside:
Place plant where it will receive the morning and/or evening sun but will be protected from full midday sun, perhaps by a wall, shed or under an overhang.
